This week was supposed meant to mark a milestone for a city looking forward to reopening after nearly three months of being sidelined by COVID-19. Instead, Chicago businesses spent Sunday sweeping up glass, boarding up windows and taking stock of destroyed stores and stolen inventory after protests tied to the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd turned violent.
